Into my 4th decade in the footwear business, some might call me a veteran. My experience as a shoemaker started in a small Goodyear welted shoe factory in the UK called Sanders and sanders, still in production today, I study footwear management and production at what is now Leicester University graduating and taking on a new position as production manager at John White Footwear producing 12 – 14,000 pairs of cement lasted shoes per week for UK retail, European and Middle East Police. I moved my career to the Footwear machinery and material industry with BUSM (British United Shoe Machinery) moving to support the ever-expanding Asian Footwear business in Asia to Korea in 1988, where I have worked in the majority of the markets, for Pittard Leather, Permair Leather Texon and ECCO Leather. I joined SGS in 2014 as Global Footwear and Leather Business manager, it is my goal to not only support our industry to be the best in class for Sustainability and compliance but to support the industry through my years of experience to be a better place.
